Haste stacking odd

Moderator note: moved to Q&A. Hi The other day i checked out of pure curiousity, how high my haste gets under the effects of hero and Icy veins. Turns out I have 127% haste at that point. However, without these two effects I have 35% Haste. Now 35% +30% +30% should add up to 95% and not 127%. I mus...

Re: 7.1.5 Secondary Stats nerf - can it break fire gameplay?

There is no such thing as a boring sekundary stat. However Fire as a whole atm is competing w arcane for the most boring spec in the game. Now to the sek stat nerf. Why doesnt Blizz nerf the conversion rates slightly. And then to compensate, that we stay relevant, make Critical mass give us crit fro...

Re: Frost mages stacking mastery with GS

Incanters might be better for this, if you have the right amount of haste, to get every GS at around 5 stacks. Not sure if that is possible to keep up reliably though with ice nine.

Re: Marquee Binding Rotation Question's

Totally wrong. You lose 2-3 Pyros on the first RoP, but you deal 4 times the damage on that pyro (300% additional damage), which is greatly increased by RoP, and around 40% of that damage in Ignite due to combustion. We're talking about close to 3M in one single cast. Then you can keep going with y...

Re: Marquee Binding Rotation Question's

While 4s may seem like a major dps loss, don't for get we always have ignite idle for 2s (fireball casting time) unless we fireblast while channeling. Not to mention that the hardcast pyro also generates a strong ignite afterwards. Ignite spread happens every 2 sec and is a server side tick event. ...

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

Could someone explain to me that rotation? Fireball>Pyro>Fireball>Pyro>pyro>pyro>Combust>IB>DBx2>BWx1 i mean, it is to manually cast pyro without heat up proc on the 3 pyro sequence? no. you heave heating up and hotstreak. cast fireball and instant pyro -> you lose Hotstreak, get 2 crits on a heati...

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

just because a spell lands 6 sec before the combustion doesnt mean it doesnt contribute to the ignite. Superchinese is higher ignite than chinese under any circumstance (unless proccs would run out for last pyro but then its maths). just doesnt fit in Crystal w/o Lust. Just from the openers I did I ...

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

Trust us. Just go mastery after 47%. there was a reason why SimC says Crit, but I forgot it. Something wasnt quite optimized for the 2min style. I was allout crit before I looked into syncing everything up with ring. Just syncing up increased my dps just a bit less than 10k. Switching around gear t...

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

47% is where it's at. You stop stacking crit there and go all out mastery/haste after that. If you cannot get to the 47% mark you might aswell not play fire. The crit wep enchant isn't all that good for fire. It's balanced around it's extra mechanic - critical strikes during the proc have a chance t...

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

Sandmans is good for gorefiend. The first feast is like ~130 sec into fight, so if you delay your opener by a few sec you should have a fresh sandmans on beginning of feast. Might need a few pulls to adjust it perfectly. And to get the third proc into second feast... die instantly after first feast ...

Re: 34 seconds into pull first proc

As far as i understand, the rppm reset sets the time since last proc to 120 sec, which is a guaranteed proc for 0.9 procs p m but not for arcanes super low pof ppm? So having the trinket proc some time into the fight can happen, its just very unlikely.

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

You only drop pc with heating up and hotstreak up. If you dont have 100% crit you cant q up pc after the fireball that gives you HU since the fireball might not crit and then you need to cast an extra fb into pc, which might push your second db or bw too far out, effectively losing out on dps. Alway...

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

You want 100% on boss too. So the setup for pc cannot fail. Fully buffed that is 47% crit. You shouldnt be playing with gsr anymore though. Sandmans + ring completely outperforms gsr nowadays.
However if you do play with gsr, i think you want much more crit rating.

Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets

Ye i just made em myself after i figured out how.
Looks like there is only one worth looking at at 37.8%. But eh thats a lot of haste and the next one is unachievable without moving in.

Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets

Timers will still align... timers dont care, if anything gets moved about or multiple targets appear ^^. Should be reliable enough for the first 4 proccs or so which is up to 8 min fights. After the 115 vs 120 sec cd start to drift too far apart. And if you have issues with trinket beeing on cd whee...

Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets

I would still like to know the haste ratings for all the breakpoints. To see if i am close to one. But thx for the formula. Now i can find them out by myself :) Btw the first fb shouldnt be considered in the formula, since ignite doesnt start until that fb arrives. And the last pb aswell, since its ...
