The problem here is, people perceive the class some way and they will refuse to take you as arcane/fire to raids because "zomg frost is best!!!", completely ignoring the fact that at average guild (skill) level a good arcane player who does like the spec will perform better that way than Frost. Did you know that TV can be extend indefinitly as long as you cast IL on something. Isn't CM all about chaining mob ?

Actually CMs is all about insane AoE burst most of the time. PC gives you more of that over the other two talents.

A macro that will only cast Ice Nova if you have an enemy target:

The single target fights (Seige, IJ, Malk) are far too short to delay orb.

Wasn't it like this even in 5.4, the only difference, as far as i can remember, is that the cut-off for mastery was much higher (100% or 120%) than this. Should definitely try it in the raid

In 5.4 we needed 130% mastery and 50% haste. I.e. impossible.

I want to try frost but I don't have the trinket and Multi is the best stat for frost.

There are no "mandatory" items to play any spec, ever. If you wanna try frost, go for it.
