Re: Common misconceptions and useful tips

The AddOn "ExtraCD" will also track RPPM and ICD of your procs without the need for a WeakAura if that is preferable.

Re: Prophecy of Fear [Megathread]

Because I noticed I'm not the only one that gets an impression that the debuff procs more frequently on the enemy when the pull starts with a crystal right on it - I usually attributed that impression to pessimism and I didn't give it much weight - I wonder if you know if Unstable Magic somehow reg...

Re: New way to use Arcane Power?

Tier 3 two-piece no longer reduces evocate's cooldown by 1 minute, so t3/t17 swap is dead unless fight will be extremely short, as your evocate is gonna be 1m30s

Tier 12 swap still working

Re: Common misconceptions and useful tips

One of these days i'll make one of these posts! Fire - Timing reliant. Not generally good for progression because of this as it typically revolves around using Nithramus (120s CD) on cooldown as Sandman's Pouch (115s internal CD) comes up to create big Combustions. You can get around this by using a...

Re: Early opener

Is the idea of the early opener (crystal > ap > ab) to proc doom on the crystal and boss? Arcane blast hits crystal before entering combat for an almost 100% of proc and then entering resetting the rppm to proc on boss as well? I watched a video of a mage doing a 1M burst on pull and i believe this...

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

Cool, re-read that thread, did a lot of testing. Summary: -If fireball+pyroblast is your opener on crystal (aka not scorching it to build stacks), ignite's initial timer is set to 5.0 then 6.0 (or 5.9) immediately. -Did some range testing: http://i.imgur.com/p7MlHQE.png It's also possible to get 0 s...

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

Hypothetically, if you had superchinesed, the time to send another Fireball/Pyro is over 2 seconds, which would have put the overall time over 5 seconds. So why superchinese at all? Wouldn't the ignite from the first Fireball/Pyro in superchinese always fall off? I feel like I repeat this a lot, bu...

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

Is my math right here? Assuming the best case of 1 sec GCD during lust/berserking: Fireball/Pyro - lands at 0 sec. Timer starts here. Fireball/Pyro - ~2 sec (1 sec GCD from last pyro + the cast time of fireball, which is actually slightly >1 sec, even with lust. also, travel time) Pyro - 3 sec IB -...

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

I thought the extra fireball+pyro at the start of superchinese was to add to the combustion ignite, is it really just buying time for inferno blast to be back up?

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)

This is why I wanted someone to double check :p

Btw isn't fleshrender hook (2600 haste on use first socks boss trinket) BiS other trinket? It lets you do superchinese every time and snapshots onto combustion like mastery does

It also lets you get your fire stacks up faster

Interesting. Went out and tried it myself. Settings: Cast inferno blast with 1406/15.62% haste, then cast combustion Unbuffed (15.62% haste): 24 ticks 5% haste raid buff (21.40% haste): 25 ticks Bloodlust unbuffed (50.31% haste): 31 ticks Bloodlust+ 5% haste buff (57.82% haste): 32 ticks Bloodlust +...

Re: Prismatic crystal min/max

How exactly are you measuring this 12.2-12.3 figure? What is being measured here? http://i.imgur.com/1gdm92u.png I've been measuring it by setting the weakaura to 12.2 seconds, and seeing if I can POM-AB at the last possible time (well, mainly just watching to see when crystal despawns, or if the w...

Re: Prismatic crystal min/max

There are some peculiar stuff you might discover if you look into ID 76933 which is the NPC of the actual crystal. The NPC drops power (of type energy) from full to nothing in exactly 12 steps which might imply they occur every exactly 1 sec, however, each step doesn't look perfectly in sync with t...

Re: Prismatic crystal min/max

It's very likely that the server operations are not on a much better latency. The clients will often have about 20ms delays or lower (assuming 60FPS or more) but the servers are likely not running that fast. I had seen in the past regular FPS games that rely on very low latency to have servers run ...

Re: Prismatic crystal min/max

Its 12 seconds with a 1.5 second GCD.

You get about 10.5 seconds on the crystal with no lag from your end
Right, that's what it's listed it, but actual testing the crystal seems to last 12.2 seconds +/- like .2
