The beauty is in the details. And yes this is traversable, about 1/3 down the windy mountain road:
Might & Magic: Heroes VI
Re: Might & Magic: Heroes VI
Final piece for the evening, the back of the kingdom, a forest, and a smaller town-- the farmlands will be next.
Here's a top-down view of the kingdom, which represents about 1/24th of the map size itself. There are 5 other kingdoms roughly the same size and a lot of other areas in between.

High in the peaks are the Stronghold clans. Reckless, independent, refusing to form alliances, these clans have an advantage on the competing kingdoms below-- visibility.
This is one of 8 Stronghold clans, showing off what is in their mountains:
Far in the northwest is the massive Inferno kingdom invading this land and terraform it, this is traverse-able and intended to be very disorienting for the player with a lot of custom effects I created myself that warp the camera lens and make use of smoke effects:

Here are some in-game screenshots of alpha testing of my game. It's truly massive. I'm at about 32,000 objects. I expect to have well over a million objects once complete.
It'll be able to be played as a single adventure map against AI, or multiplayer in various configurations. Can be an ongoing game with an RPG feel. So far, it's rocking.
I'm running the game in 5760x1080, so bear that in mind, click the pics to make them bigger (our website doesn't allow anything over 4096 wide, lol):

These are areas of very little importance as well-- hidden off in areas that'll take many hours of exploration to uncover.

Ready for some closeups, worked on lighting and graphics a bit:

A hundred times more impenetrable than Mordor, Green's map is confusing even in a reveal-all. It was so hard to design that I had to merge many map edits.
Viewing this top-down portion of the map does not even give away the path required to get through the maze. The one who plays as Green has a few secret passages available only to them.
This is so very zoomed out and in 5760x1080, to scale this map is larger than Azeroth:

I might make a beta available of it soon, if anyone is interested.
