Kilrogg Deadeye & Spec Choice

Mod notice: Moved to Q&A.

So my guild <Rome> has a ranged raid comp consisting of 4 mages and 2-3 hunters and a shadowpriest. We are currently working on Mythic Kilrogg Deadeye. If the raid leader wanted ranged to PRIMARILY be focused on killing the bloods and the bloodthirsters what spec should they be? My opinion on the matter is that frost is far better suited for movement and add priority based damage for several reasons. 1) You don't have travel time with arcane missiles. 2) You won't be stuck building or having to clear arcane charges thus doing less damage. 3) Stuck evocating 4) Having to focus adds during burn phase

Am I completely off base in thinking that frost is better for this task? Please let me know what you guys think. I welcome any opinion on the matter.

This is for mages who are NOT going into the portal phase.

Personally, I find frost to be more dedicated to a single target than the other specs. I have not participated in mythic KR so my opinion would be solely based on how fast each target is dying and if I had enough time to use my water jet on a target to build up enough FoF/BF procs.

Frost and 4T18 do not make for good target switching. You're going to miss out on a lot of WJ usage by switching to those adds since they aren't going to be near the boss for easy targeting back and forth. Mobility between specs is only relevant if a fight has more movement than Ice Floes can cover - which Kilrogg does not. That's why most mages use RoP on it. AM has a travel time, yes, but AB does not and instantly applies a slow. All of Frost's spells have a travel time. Taking AO and planning around add spawns can keep you from spending much time at low AB stacks. Evocation is not a long cast time and again can be planned around add spawns. And focusing adds during a burn phase, if your goal is add damage, is a pro for Arcane not a con lol.

Frost is better at cleaving, but not at switching to short-lived adds, especially with this tier's bonuses. Frost can do the job perfectly fine on Kilrogg so if that's what you want to play by all means play it, but the best choice if you're truly concerned about min/maxing your add damage is Arcane.

If you're staying up I'd go frost all the time. You can always save a couple of proccs for good burst on the adds, mobility shouldn't be an issue either way if you position yourself halfway between boss and the heartseeker location and if you use mouseover macros water jet shouldn't be a problem at all.

If your MAIN priority is killing short lived adds quickly, arcane is going to suit that best, easy target swapping (minus fkn doom nova Rip). You may possibly lose some doom nova/cleaving damage but it will be the most reliable add damage.
