*Imagine Evocation's cool channeling animation, but this time around, you can cast spells while evocation is restoring your mana. So your goal is to deplete mana as you're restoring it so that you're low on mana when its second affect takes place (mana set to 100%)
*It just feels bad to be channeling evocation while priority adds are up w/o the ability to cast while doing so.
*Slitpstream wouldn't feel as mandatory

*The idea was that you benefit most from it by knowing the encounter. An uptime of 10s is guaranteed since it might be too hardcore/unreliable otherwise. Mage barriers have a 25s cooldown, you only need to maintain it for 15s for nearly 100% uptime.
