I assumed the fact that Tome buffed arcane blast so much, that just focusing it into the crystal made sense.
I'll check out those readings and run my own tests then.

*I should read this guide more, mentions how you AM into the crystal as usual in burn. Either that was updated or I missed it.....
Lingering question, guide mentions with tome and or prophecy, after 4 charges dump all missiles. Then place crystal down and assume normal burn.
It doesn't mention how to use arcane power here. Do I hit AP after the missiles are dumped, if there are any? Then go crazy on the crystal.
Or right after 4 charges, go into AP for burn. Missiles into target, then crystal

Bit of confusion I have, wondering if someone can clear this up. Wondering if on initial burn if I get mark of doom proc and have missiles, I let them go before placing down crystal and hitting arcane power, or, I ideally place crystal down, hit arcane power, and let the AM's into the target then switch to the crystal.
Basically the question being the fact that the crystal is also hit if target is it...is that worth arranging. I'm confused because I was seeing somewhat different things being said:

I think the guide is more correct in that regard.
In a perfect world you'd want to AM the boss, then place PC while AM is in the air. You have to stand far away from the boss though for travel time to be as long as possible. That way, you will essentially gain some PC time while keeping the benefits of casting AM into Mark of Doom. After that, you just AB the crystal while spending AMs on the Mark of Doom target until Mark of Doom is done. Once that situation blows over, you just AM the crystal instead as you would in a normal burn.

Not sure I understand your question correctly.With Tome, do we burn until at zero mana levels ?

Do you mean starting a burn phase when you're already low mana?
Or continueing your burn phase when oom?
In both cases, you don't try to keep burning when you reach below like 10% mana, and instead just evocate up to full and continue as usual.

I meant burning until ~0% mana instead of the usual 50% rule.
I find myself quickly reaching very low mana levels while burning with Tome, especially when I have no AM procs while still àbove ~70% (if I understood correctly, using AM procs at lower mana levels is actually not worth?).
My understanding of the Tome-burn phase is that, to make the most out it, I more or less ignore AMs and just spam AB - is that correct?

You don't ignore AM during crystal and outside AM at three stacks, burn as long as Arcane Power is up but make sure its not glyphed or you will probably go OoM.

Had a question: during fights like Assault, Xhul, Manno when burning, MoD procs and AM is spammed accordingly, much of the time I noticed my mana is above 50% after Arcane Power finishes (running with PoF and Gaze trinkets). Keep burning is correct in most cases. The rule of burn until AP is over is just to cover the situation where you are sub-50%, using ToSW, and need some metric by which to judge how long you need to continue burning.Hello there. I usually burn to ~50% if i come under such circumstances. But i also sync PC with the ring.
If u dont sync it and use AP/PC on CD u should evo back because on the other hand u delay Evo and next burn (where u maybe have no AMs) u stand there casting a 20%-Mana AB without AP waiting for Evo.

I've been thinking about the 50% burn and the general rule of stop AM around 70%. Now that our rings are getting higher and higher we really want to sync everything up to them which means we’re not trying to keep our 1.5m CDs synced up – we just need them to be back up by 2m instead. Its easy enough to just continue casting AM whenever you get them and extend the length of your burn that way, but I didn’t know if it would make sense to burn past 50% when you know you don’t need your CDs until 2 minutes later.
Is there a way to test that to see if it makes sense to try to burn for a longer length of time, even if that means going down to low mana percentages since we don’t need CDs for 2 minutes? Or is the damage done at low mana just not that great (outside of when you have AP up and the class trinket) so going into a conserve rotation earlier is still the best option?

I do understand the general AoE priority, but there are some things that are unclear to me still.
1) I don't have the Tome of Shifting Words yet, so I assume that means that I have to use Nether Tempest as my lvl 75 talent when there's any kind of AoE. Is that correct? And once I get the Tome I switch to UM in all scenarios?
2) How many mobs do there need to be in a fight before Arcane Orb becomes the best lvl 100 talent to use?
3) Anything important when it comes to using AP in AoE situations? Or is it literally just using AP and then following the AoE priority list?
Would be very grateful for any kind of help.
