[6.1] Trinket Comparison

A lot of people have been asking how the new trinkets compare and I saw a comment the other day saying they are now at the polishing stages for the PTR builds so I feel more confident posting these results. As this is PTR I will not be updating these results as often as I do for my live data posts. Also, because this is a post to answer the constant questions about how the 6.1 trinkets compare to BRF trinkets, I will only post the first 40 trinket combinations as I don't think anyone really needs the 115 possible combinations.

As always, this is a single target, light movement fight with a 450 sec (+/- 20%) fight length.




As you can see, a number of HC trinkets are better than the Alchemy and Inscription trinkets and if your luck is really bad, you could also try your luck on Mythic Highmaul trinkets which are better as well.

I would imagine the proc has a very good synergy with AP + PC + Time Warp. Might even be more compelling to spec into Cold Snap for faster arcane charge building at the start (given that the trinket procs on your first cast).

The default APL used in the sims do use cold snap as a method of building up stacks faster.

So, what trinket do I choose for single target fights?

I have:
Mythic 685 Runestone
HC 680 Talisman
Normal 665+Socket Repository
691 Mythic wf Shards

I feel like Repository is really good because of the huge crits but maybe it's just an illusion

I mostly go with Talisman+Repository since talisman procs more often than shards. IDK if that makes sense.

Or should I buy the new alchemy trinket?

You'd want to run sims to be sure, but I do believe that Talisman + MythicWF Shards would be the best combo for you. Mythic Shards and Mythic Runestone would be a close choice and would depend on if you wanted a use trinket or equip/passive trinket, but warforged should make it more appealing and the on use being like a small lust is never a bad thing!

So I got lucky and got 680 Repository with a socket.
According to Simcraft the trinkets I should go for are 691 Shards + Repository.
How come that simcraft tells me that 691 Shards are better than 680 Talisman? (58,5 dps increase)

Talisman has 310 int and 0,91 procc per minute (2200 haste)
and Shards has 320 int and 1870 haste on use.

Does simcraft not expect talisman not to procc twice within 2 minute or?
