Mod Edit: Moved to Q&A
My questions is how close do you actually get to your simcrafted DPS? Because no matter how hard I try I can't get within 70k of what my simcraft says I should do. And yeah I'm aware that I cannot mimic perfectly simcraft but I was wondering how much is the difference for other people?
Simcraft and Arcane mages
Re: Simcraft and Arcane mages
I get above my simc dps by like 80-100k depending on my luck.
Re: Simcraft and Arcane mages
Hello,
my first post, but i recognized an issue with SC.
With Belovir + Bracers i simmed ~580k
Funnily i got my 5th leggi 1,5weeks after receiving belovir, and it was the kilt
Adapted some other slots (same or higher ilvl), and with bracers + kilt it simmed 570k.
Wondering about the result i recognized that the sim is not using evo anymore if i use the kilt. 21% mastery.
Mana gains are only via kilt an mp5.
Before it was mp5 + evocation.
I think i have to modify the input of SC?
I am aware that the apl is not ideal and way off reality as you have to adapt to fight-mechanics.
Normally i simply play with different gearings and do analysis afterwards (and how it felt e.g. low or high mastery).
This is why i was not focused on the sim-issues.
But this is really strange

Re: Simcraft and Arcane mages
SimCraft takes very optional conditions for its DPS. It's set up usually for a patchwork fight wich means no movement at all and standing still against only a single target. For fights with a lot of movement like Elisande and Gul'dan it's not very accurate.
It's great to see how your gear measures up in a vacuum and makes comparing individual pieces way easier.
A better way to see how your doing is to go to https://www.warcraftlogs.com/ and compare yourself to other actual players. You can select the boss / raid you want and see how you're doing against all the other arcane mages.
On normal Gul'dan https://www.warcraftlogs.com/statistics ... fficulty=3 for example. You can further filter people out by iLvL to see other people in the same gear range as you. This is useful to see if you have any rotational/mechanical problems in a fight. If all other iLvL880 arcane mages are pulling 450k+ and you with the same iLvL are only doing 350k+ it might not be a gearing problem.

To further your point. If you are on logs looking over one of your own fights, on the top right you can click compare. Then towards the bottom under where it says "Or you can search for parses similar to yours using the options below:" if you choose your name from the drop down menu and click search, it will find fights from other arcane mage logs that are the same length/raid size/ilvl. I am a raid officer and have to use this a lot to figure out how my ranged dps are doing compared to others under similar situations. It also helps a lot to look over your rotation.SimCraft takes very optional conditions for its DPS. I should have probably posted my armory earlier.

Simcraft sims me even higher. At about 750k or something. Thats why my question was for a dummy fight which is basically patchwork. I think that i should be able to get pretty close to that and I was wondering what was the difference for other people if they have done dummy fights. Basically I'm trying to figure if I'm doing something wrong or just simcraft does something strange when simming. I suspect that Shard of the Exodar I have as chaning this legendary result in like 50k or so dps lose.

Re: Simcraft and Arcane mages
For that my toon sims at 620kdps on a five minute patchwork fight and 570 on a ten.
When I go smack the dummy in the mage hall (All buffed up with flask, pots, drums, rune) my dps is lower. It's normally around 90%of what I sim.
So about 585 on a five minute and 550 for ten when I'm hitting the dummy.
