Hi!
I'm looking for help - trying to figure out what's wrong with my DPS.
Here's my "best" Garothi H kill: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/kF ... &source=33
Here's a sim with my gear: https://www.raidbots.com/simbot/report/ ... QUPah/simc
Apparently I'm doing approximately 40% less than my simmed results. I understand that the sim is patchwerk, perfect rotation and does not account movement. But it's definitely not 40% lower. On a training dummy I can pull around 1.3m DPS though.
I know that my gear is fairly bad (too much haste/vers) and not enough crit/mastery. I'm working on that.
If I compare my logs to the sim, I can see few things:
1. Pyroblast crit % is slightly lower (minus 7-10%)
2. Pyroblast avg hit is 1.5m vs 1.8m simmed
3. Fireball crit % is like 15% lower than simmed
4. Fireball avg hit is 120k lower than simmed
5. Phoenix flames - pretty much same problem
...
6. And so on.
I thought it might be my rotation, but I'm trying to squeeze as much casts into combustion phase as possible. 4 fireblasts, 3 phoenix flames, 2-3 scorches, etc. Still no cake.
Any tips will be appreciated.
Thank you!

Re: Help with fire dps
Hello!
So I'm not sure why your spells arent hitting are hard as they are in your sim, but looking over your logs and your rotation and such I noticed a couple things.
It seems like outside of combustions you are hardly casting any pyroblasts at all, I think at one point your chain casted fireball 7 times, make sure you're using fire blasts to get heating up.
Also no pheonix flames casts really, they can be helpful in keeping pyrochains going
Also I highly recommend you don't use conflagration. The only bosses I would use it on is eonar and.. maybe high command? Use firestarter, especially since you don't have as much crit. This will change your opening rotation a bit, like giving you a mini combustion every pull.
A typical pull for me using firestarter looks like this.
>Prepot and begin casting pyroblast at 5 seconds
>As soon as pyroblast finishes casting cast Phoenix flames
>Pyroblast to consume hot streak
> Fire blast
>Pyroblast (hotstreak)
> Fireball
-fire blast to create hot streak
>Pyroblast (hotstreak)
>Fireball/pyroblast chain until boss gets to 90% hp
Then the very first spell that will hit the boss as 90% how you use combustion.
By the time the boss gets to 90% you'll typically be back at 3 Phoenix flames charges
Hope this helps a bit!

Re: Help with fire dps
Do you have other trinkets maybe?
Sheath isn't very good unfortunately.
Check this to compare your trinkets

Re: Help with fire dps
Sheath is actually decent after the buffs to most of the raid trinkets. You can tell it's not updated because the hotfix was December 5th i believe and last updated is November 25th. Sheath isn't optimal but it's at least decent atm
Re: Help with fire dps
Oh, I forgot about that, sorry.
Still, it's an int trinket with no use effect which is bound to be suboptimal for a fire mage.
The damage from the trinket in his parse was 1.07m
