Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
Yeah i meant, combustion doesn't double dip (increase in ignite and increase on its own damage direclty).
Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
Time for me to eat my hat, the rest is still accurate however.? Combustion is affected by haste. Just like other DoTs - it gains and loses ticks based on your haste.
Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
Combustion itself doesn't directly benefit from percentage modifiers, but Ignite absolutely benefits from everything, which is often overlooked.
Crit: Crit spells hit harder, and also generate Pyroblasts which hit very hard. This leads to larger ignites.
Haste: Haste reduces the number of ignite ticks in between spells landing. This allows you to land more spells in a shorter amount of time, causing higher ignite spikes. This is also why Bloodlust causes higher ignite peaks. This benefit stops when the spell you use reaches 1 second GCD cap.
Mastery: Ignite is directly proportional to your mastery.
Multistrike: Multistrike spells effectively act as extra spells that generate ignite. With a few exception cases, multistrikes will add to your Ignite bank, which again means higher ticks.
Versatility: Spells hitting harder mean harder ignite ticks.
If you look at it this way, this simply means that Ignite benefits from everything, and Combustion benefits a little bit extra on top of that, due to Crit/Haste/Multistrike affecting the ticks.

Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
I wonder tho can we really for fire just say how much a stat is worth? I have a feeling that for example the worth of haste and mastery differs depending on how much crit you have to begin with?
Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
The value of stats always changes depending on your current gear, stat weights are just aproximations based on default profiles of what we reasonably expect people to have at various gear levels.
If you want the exact numbers you can just sim your own character, those will reflect the true value of all the stats for your gear.

Removed out of date talent stuff, added in new 6.1 talent comparisons.
Also cleaned up the OP, added a table of contents. Should be a bit nicer to look through now.

Are these results with or without 4set?
Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
with 4set. It's using the default Tier 17 Mythic BRF profile.
Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
Does anyone have an update racial list for Fire as of patch 6.1? I saw on the arcane subforum that panda is now better then troll. I've really grown tired of playing as a troll and is considering race changing to panda, but I want to know if panda is any good as fire aswell since I play arcane and fire.
I've heard that apparently the 125 buff food doesent work for pandas atm and will obviously not race change before that, but since I've heard this is just a bug I might go panda when the bug is fixed.

Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
Just wondering, is LB a dps loss even after the haste buff?
Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
Yeah, it's generally still a LB loss or at best DPS neutral (which means in practice a DPS loss).

I can re-run, but I doubt it'll change enough to actually care.Does anyone have an update racial list for Fire as of patch 6.1? I saw on the arcane subforum that panda is now better then troll. Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
Was a "magic" haste soft cap ever determined assuming shaman haste buff? Was curious as I only play fire for cleaves so using LB/RoP/Kindling for talent choices. If there is a said "cap" would using 125 haste food be worth over the standard 125 mastery?
Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
in the presence of haste buffs, yes. It'd probably be worth it to obtain it for single target, not sure on cleave.
Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
I guess i can redo those sims for 2 and 3 targets sustained. From what i remember when looking at stat weights without scaling graphs (not the most accurate thing but eh), it was worth going for.
edit: ran sims again, the results are basically identical on sustained 2 and 3 target cleave.

At what point does Kindling outpace Meteor? I have yet to try Kindling myself and it sims lower for me, but I often find that I'm getting lower Combustions when Meteor is up (Fireball after Pyroblast! + Heating Up resulting in no crits, but since Meteor was burned, Combustion should be used) compared to a lucky Pyroblast crit streak Combustion. Not to mention targets not sitting in the Meteor burn.
Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
Honestly I don't think I'd ever run meteor.
1/2 target sustained I'd run PC. 3+ I'd run kindling.

Re: Fire Talent Comparisons, Stat Weights, Racials, Trinkets
Interestingly enough I'm starting to see some extremely high parses on Mythic Maidens and even Operator using PC. Most are still Kindling though. What are peoples thoughts on this? Its kind impossible to use Simcraft for an answer with the 2pc IB trick being hard to implement atm.
