Proper Wriggling Sinew Usage

Unread postby Torcaden Thu Sep 22, 2016 12:55 am

Hi,

So I got Wriggling Sinew last night and I'm wondering how to use it correctly. Ideally I imagine you want the proc to go off during a combustion RoP which is easy to do in an opener by popping it in the countdown pull which should let you get 10 total casts before combustion is down.

I'm confused from here on out how to use it. I'm currently talented with Kindling which is lowering the CD of my combustion to where the trinket isn't up for the next cycle. If I delay the combustion I'm better off just taking cinderstorm as I negate the usefulness of kindling. Or after the opener do I just pop the trinket on CD/burn phases outside of combustion with just RoP available?

Thanks

You don't use kindling then.

So cinderstorm really isnt that great atm your not negating the usefulness of kindling by delaying combustion to get a better combustion burn. After your double RoP opener when your third RoP comes up you should have flame on rollin around with a charge or if you held out 2 charges of fire blast I would more than likely use wriggling sinew here as this is where I usually place my 3rd RoP down and get alot of pyro chaining out.

Cinderstorm really isn't great? It seems like the rest of your comment is about why it lines up better.

After testing with the item more tonight against target dummy. I'm having an even larger problem. It appears that the majority of my flame blasts don't trigger a counter. if you Pyro Flameblast it seems to only detect one hit. 90% of my attempts I end up with 2-4 charges left on the trinket because it didn't detect fireblasts and RoP and Combustion is over.

I also got lucky, got an 875 sinew and after some testing I've found that the best way to use it is to start my combustion burst after my target has 6 stacks of it.

What I've been doing to achive this is, on opener use Sinew before precasting fireball and delaying combustion burst by a couple of secounds until my target is at 5 or 6 stacs of the sinew, then I RoP and start the combustion burst.

Doing this I can make sure my sinew deals 2,4M dmg, without RoP it deals around 1,8M dmg if it critics. Outside your opener just delay ROP+Combustion burst a couple of seconds to get some stacks placed on your target allowing you to always explode your sinew inside ROP+Combustion

Yes I'm having to pre-stack as well. Rather annoying. It looks like maybe the ignite/conflag ticks are messing with some internal timer on when a new stack can get transferred.

Yeah, having 5 - 6 stacks left seems ideal to ensure it explodes while ROP/combust is still active.

Super retarded fire blast doesn't proc it though.

I'm having no problem getting 10 stacks in first ROP of burn and fire blast is procing it. Mine is 885 if that makes any difference. Dropped kindling for betting syncing but not sure if cinders are worth it at 65% crit level.
