Hi Guys! Long time reader so thanks to all the amazing mages that contribute to this awesome site. I finally registered to ask my first question as I am having severe problems in NH compared to some of my colleagues and the fire mage community. While I know a large portion of my disappointment in my ST dmg is not having any of the top fire specific legendaries, I tore through my logs this week + comparing to the top parse I could find with identical legendaries and in the same ilvl group and found a new disappointment I would love some advice on and that is optimal positioning on a per fight basis in NH. I noticed that I normally have 5-10 more scorches(Star Aug and dropping fel is where I hit this high number) cast and anywhere from 5-20ish less fireballs. Something I have been catching myself on and am trying to get much better at is ALWAYS making sure I have a fireball cast going before using pyro for the chance at a double hit. I have seen forum post in previous xpac's where a top player will post there specific tips and tricks per fight including positioning so I was hoping to get some helpful answers so I can get better. don't use scroch if u don't have belt use shimmer, u welcome

I think you will find this thread quite useful and full of tips(one of my posts is quite extensive); maybe not exact positioning per boss, but a general idea.

Playing a mage(or I guess any class) is quite mechanical, but usually a boss mechanic will try to screw up your day. In that case, there is shimmer.

Just know your ABC(always be casting).
