Is there an advanced tutorial post somewhere?
Advanced? Not really. I have one that I'm slowly adding more advanced topics to in the general section of this forum.

If you're interested in TC and SimC, Theck has made some excellent posts on the topics.

If you just want help with comparing stuff in SimC, the last two links I posted cover the uses of the automation tool that Theck added for WoD, which will help you get to where you want to go.

Note: You CANNOT use the automation tool for APL adjustments for mage APLs as Theck does the paladin APL. You can use it to generate a entirely new APL, but we do our APL very different from most other classes (honestly, it's a bit crazy and technically we shouldn't do it). Mucking around with the automation tool and the default APL is a good way to break things, very quickly.

I've re-run the trinket stuff and updated the OP (again). It seems that when I was told SimC was updated last night, this was not the case for every trinket! It should be correct now.

Dutch's thread has similar data, we just used different background profiles and my sims are limited to only trinkets from highmaul or lower.

Could someone explain why TV is higher dps on multiple targets than PC is? Also, on single-target with PC I've been debating whether I should use frost bomb on my PC or the actual boss. Which would provide better results?

I'm saying shattered hand is more DPS. What you do is up to you.

PC damage is split among targets hit, so it doesn't scale really well with additional target.

I see. So doing higher single target damage through TV is better than that split dps? Interesting. Can you comment on whether to use frost bomb on PC or the actual boss in a single target encounter?

There are also awesome posts in howtopriest about simcraft and obtaining "correct" stat weights from Sims. Don't have links ready at this moment. But there are some nicely posts hidden in that shadowforum / blog. Mostly from twintop. And you'll find some nice posts from people, who tried to value hastecaps last addon. Later posts may be helpful to get a value of PC-Hastecaps.

Edit: here is one :)

So my friend is passing the 52.2% soft cap when he gets trinket procs. Is it worth it to unglyph IV or is he just being silly?

He's being silly. MS doesn't actually "cap" until 200%.

Pretty sure during Beta they moved MS down from 200% to 100% scaling.

Thanks so much for all this info - very helpful.
Doing a little simming... and finding that Munificent Orb of Ice (both the 615 and warforged 621) are doing better than some of the 630 trinkets listed. Maybe good idea to add that trink to the pre-raid rankings? Just a thought.
