Hello all,
is there any soft cap/hard cap for multistrike? With weapon enchant and full buffed i am on the way to get over 100% multistrike.
I already tried to google but i found different answers. Some ppl said yes u can go ms till 200% some ppl said no over 100% is senseless.
I hope i will find the true answer in this thread.
Thanks for answers.

I am not aware of any MS caps but if you look at your stat Scaling graph for your current talent selection. MS continues to outpace Haste and Mastery for quite a while yet.
TL:DR. You're fine. Keep stacking MS if you want.

Sorry i am a noob, but where do I get a graph like this?
And why crit as a stat is not considered? Crit is the most important stat after multistrike?!

It's a DPS scaling plot from SimC, the stats are not done together, so crit being there or not is meaningless.
There is effectively no cap for MS that we can reach.

okay thanks for your answer. So there is nothing wrong about stacking multistrike all day long.

presuming you are playing frost, use the crit weapon enchant instead of the multistrike one, it's better regardless (presuming you have archi trinket + hfc 4 set) and should solve your going over 100% multistrike problem?

I thought ms was like crit...if you are over 100% how is that helpful? Maybe I'm completely missing something but there would have to be a cap no?

That case is not investigated because you can't reach it currently.

what u mean with that? I can reach over 100% during icy veins. and with TV this fact becomes even more important

The graphs are based on simulations. Use your stats when Icy Veins gets it above 100% and see if it becomes worse.

Failing to see how this makes any sense - the sims will obviously be capping MS during IV as well, and it isn't an issue.

I'm not so sure. Keeping in mind my 0 point is 99.91% under IV, there's a definite drop off in relation to other stats. I think the more interesting one is that the reforge graphs showed a better gain going from MS to haste rather than crit, despite crit being weighted heavier.

I'd imagine you're near BiS - Although I guess with ilvl upgrades it could actually become an issue now.

Stat value are really close to each other. So a local increase make other value more, relatively.
The graph clearly show it.

Assuming the following buffs:
Multistrike buff
125 multi food
Glyphed icy veins
2 stacks of multistrike weapon enchant (is it even possible to get 3?)
If we exceed 100% multi with the above buffs, should we start re-enchanting and re-gemming for haste and/or switch to haste food. Is it worth exceeding 100% multi in the occasion where all of those buffs stack up if it means having a higher % when they're not all lined up?
Whenever I sim myself it says haste is my highest secondary until I switch to the recommended haste gear, then when I resim myself it says multi is highest (and vice versa). Kuni, I noticed that you have some multi gems and some haste gems/enchants. What is your reasoning for this? Are you just trying to get as close to 100% multi as possible without exceeding? Also, (this question goes to everyone) why is the crit enchant considered best when multi/haste are weighted higher?

By the way, how do you generate these nice graphs? Here Google Image Charts gives an empty image and I have to use Highcharts. That in turn returns an ugly image that is small too and almost unreadable.

actually i have exactly the same problems. For me its actually Haste>crit>multi with crit-enchant on weap and every socket/gem = multistrike. If i change 2 enchants to haste Simcraft provides me more dps and multistrike is getting the less important secondary stat even after versatility and mastery (lol).

You're using too many data points. the google image charts has a limit of like...30? or something. Once you exceed that, it'll basically not work.
I agree the Highcharts look god awful. That might be something I can look into working on improving for us in Legion.

interested in armory / values. Reaching multistrike cap should just be a problem with specific gear sets on very high itemlvl. Probably mythic warforged stuff or lots of sockets.
Weapon enchant x2 ~15% (1000 multistrike, 66 rating = 1%)
Icy veins ~ 30%
Bufffood ~ 2%
Buff 5%
~48-50% from gear depending on which bufffood you do eat. But the decline of multistrike as a value may happen before that value (I doubt that one). Thats the reason why I'm interested in your gear. Anyway, if you're able to reach that one exchanging items for higher itemlevel ones may be more rewarding than changing enchants. Higher itemlvl = more int. Int wins.
