Mage Hidden Artifact Appearances

Fire mage hidden appearance is no longer a random drop in Suramar, and yet everywhere I look online everyone is too caught up in the Arcane artifact to care. I've tried searching various sites for the fire artifact hidden appearance and have come up short. Perhaps it has to do with how much research you done and then it leads to a raid?

I'm with you man. It's unfortunate, because Fire's hidden appearance is absolutely beautiful.

I clearly think that hidden appearance are gated by Artifact Knowledge and/or Artifact Power.

I switched to Arcane spec and polymorphed the Vyrkul Shepherd in Stormheim (on the southeast corner where the naga world quest appears) and Aluneth immediately said "Power, I must have... more power..."

I haven't been playing Arcane in the world so I don't know how often Aluneth talks to you or if this phrase is often said, but it seemed interesting given the potential Artifact Knowledge and/or Power gate.

Edit: I have 13 points in my Arcane spec and AK is level 3.

I play with a couple QA people from Blizzard and they said that most, if not all, of the hidden artifact appearances that were random drops in the world have been changed, which is likely why no one has found the Fire one since launch.

He refused to confirm whether or not we'd have to wait till AK5 for some of the appearances to be available. Guess we'll have to keep looking!

Don't suppose they'd answer whether or not anyone has gotten Frostfire's Remembrance yet? I've had the portals since the first day it was possible and have yet to see anyone with it or triggered myself.

I just had an Idea. 10 min cooldown till I can try it again. If you polymorph a player and use illusion afterward it turns you into a sheep and you do all your attacks still...

What if I poly someone in a dual, turn into a sheep and then sheep one of the mobs, would the [...] turn into actual dialogue ?

EDIT: I guess since I already had poly'd these mobs it doesnt give the dialogue anymore

I got the daily roll for then hidden artifact from frost to proc today.
I got my artifact knowledge 4 a few hours ago and now it seems that when I check for the quest ID it is noted as completed.

I did not check the quest since day 1, did AK 4 finally allow the daily random roll for the frost artifact, or was it available before?

I can confirm this. I checked via the macro a few hours before getting AK level 4 and it wasn't rolling. Just checked my macro now (haven't done anything other than the same old AP WQs since getting AK level 4 a few hours ago) and the daily roll is working.

Can also confirm that the daily roll started happening at 4 artifact knowledge, and the method to obtain the appearance hasn't changed (unlike perhaps for Star's Design).

Someone posted they got their priest hidden appearance today after getting AK 4. I suspect most appearances will be locked behind that. Hopefully Arcane is too.

It might be not related but it track Artifact Knowledge on a daily basis. In short, don't expect to unlock something the same day you increase AK. The check will only be made the next day. (proved to be wrong 2 post below)

Europe server - 7:00 UTC (for CET, it's 8:00 in winter and 9:00 in summer).
NA server - 3pm UTC

I don't know how I triggered those quests but it lead me to azurewing post to conact kadghar. He said something like "there are other forms of you artifact hidden within and I can help you find them". I then had to speak to the dragon and I got a followup quest which requires to finish The Eye of Azshara on Mythic difficulty. My AK is on 4 which I also unlocked yesterday so maybe it has something to do with this?

change the "QuestCompleted" number. It work with any quest. use WoWhead for questID.
