[LEG] Belt + Bracers rotation in 7.1.5

Hi there

I got both the belt koralon and the marquee bracers so i decided to stick to fire for NH 7.1.5.
However i am reading different opinions on the matter for bracer proc during opener and sub 30% hp.
As well some people said that ROP is required for bracers proc to be optimal.

When to use bracer proc? During combustion? Not during combustion? Rop only or without rop is okay also?
What about sub 30% when belt shines...do i keep using bracer proc and hardcast or focus on scorch and instant pb only?

Is bracer still a good dps increase with lack of ice flows? seems some ppl said it was useless now due to possibility of being interrupted during mechanics it could lead to significant dps loss. Some have switched to DB helm as a result.

I sim higher with MI than with RoP and I have bracers. bracers are still fine. being mindful of shimmer charges helps a lot with bracers. if you are smart with positioning to start with you can usually get that proc off.

The biggest draw back to no ice floes is boss mechanics that knock you back like the first boss in Maw and the first boss in NL. but if you time it right you can usually avoid those as well.

if you do some napkin math you can probably figure out whats best with the belt. consider cast times and global cooldowns and see if a bracer proc does more than the scorch, FB and pyro you can fit in that same time frame.

I've made some math yesterday when I've got the same question and didn't find the answer on the forums. What I ended up with is that for my stats (55% crit, 20% haste, 10% mastery) hardcasting legendary Pyroblast under 30% HP is about 43% more damage than casting 2 scorches + proc Pyro:

Legendary Pyro: 3020.64% SP per 3.75s cast
2xScorch+ProcPyro: 2112.12% SP per 3.75s time spent

Since sometimes you can queue Scorch+Pyro (if previous Pyro critted) I tried to calculate this scenario too and legendary Pyro still wins:

Legendary Pyro: 2013.76% SP per 2.5s cast
Scorch+Pyro: 1485.72% SP per 2.5s time spent

I know my math can be pretty rough but since the difference is already that high I didn't go further and decided to use legendary proc whenever I can.

Is there an issue with your math due to the fact that you can cast scorch and fblast to basically get a pyro twice as fast?

You can't get it faster than Scorch+Pyro which is the second scenario that I described where instead of hoping for previous pyro to crit you cast Fire Blast mid-Scorch. Fire Blast is not in the math but you can cast it during Pyroblast too so it wouldn't change results much.

I actually looked at the spreadsheet after commenting and forgot to edit my post. scorch pyro would be the best case scenario with belt and since the bracer proc still beats it there's no reason to not use the proc.

I read all of the above and unless I missed something no one mentioned the 15% proc chance, I have the bracers, If you get the proc and the 300% pyro you are king, if not the belt rotation is better.

The way I see it is that in the 30% of the boss fight stuff gets crazy mostly and if you have to move (no floes) or dont get the proc its possible to be without dps for 3/5 seconds. Could mean that the boss has gone down considerably in health because all the other classes are executing. So, in my humble opinion, Scorch pyro while running is preferable.

The math is great and generally correct but, in a perfect world, My world is rarely perfect. If I missed the point, dont shoot me, sorry ;D
