New look and feel!

Welcome to Altered Time!

Today, we launched a new and improved version of Altered Time.

Some of the most important differences:

• It looks a lot more modern
• It works great on mobile, unlike the previous version
• Lots of technical improvements in terms of security and performance, which will make it easier to change things in the future.

If you are having any issues with the new site, please let me know on discord or in this thread!

Known issues:

• Some wowhead urls may have gone invalid during the transition, or have a random "_blank" displayed next to them.

looks great dutch especially like the header in the blue / purple and red to give off the mage spec colors small things but good impact +1 from me

IIRC a dark theme is being worked on.

Thanks for the feedback! I've heard this same dislike of the scrolling from multiple people so I will be removing the "smooth" scrolling later today.

It is nearly impossible to differentiate between no new posts and new posts in a thread as the think black and dark blue colors are very hard to distinguish. That and some random purple/dark blue colors and its hard to tell if this is a mage forum or a shaman/lock/4chan.

It is ok I guess..looks modern ..but it is really difficult to distinguish the new posts..maybe highlight the whole title with colored letters? i guess dark theme could help with this

Added a very basic dark theme. I will work on making it nicer somewhere next week.

Honestly, i hate it.

To go into a bit more detail i'll list a few things.

Main Page

• The logo is to big, it looks very out of place.
• The header background i presume is just the default one for the skin and looks very basic.
• The brightness of the content background and the main background is very overwhelming and looking at the forums at night is an eye swore.
• The Forums graphics are very basic and not personalized at all, the forum icons are just images of files, the category headers are just a plain blue.
• Give people signed out the ability to change the theme.

Topic View

• I hate how the poster profile is on the right on topic view and how it seems to not have any structure to it.
• Quote backgrounds do not differ in color to the normal background which makes posts look a bit messy.

Overall i'd say i like the incentive to modernize the website but this had lead to a very monotone color scheme and a very bad forum layout, and i feel the forum has lost it's sense of homeliness and warmth, it is also extremely awkward to navigate.

I hope this feedback doesn't come across as bitchy, i just really liked the previous theme

Yea I've heard this before, though a lot of people found it too small before. (It was smaller initially and people found it too small) The background is indeed just to be a bit more than a static color atm. I am looking into ways to make it more interesting.

Yep. I've added a very basic dark theme for that reason now. (Also needs work, like the light theme)

Interesting feedback about the icons. Not sure if I'd change those to something more "magey", but perhaps something else fits. Not sure what the second point means? Do you mean swapping between dark/light? You can do that while logged out.

Topic View

It was always on the right side, and I am not sure what you mean with lack of structure. Could you expand on this?
Quotes do differ, but perhaps not enough. I'll see if I can make it more obvious without being too overwhelming.

Not at all! I appreciate the feedback and thought you put into it.

Changes will come based on feedback, though it's all purely done in my free time so they may not all be done at the same time.

The dark theme is much, much easier to look at than the light theme.

The header seems to have a lot of empty, useless space, however. I did a really (really) rough edit job to try and illustrate how much space you could cut out of the header and still leave it feeling pretty roomy, just as a rough comparison: http://imgur.com/a/s5FUb
