Hi,
Just a question in regards to the 33% Shatter cap, I've been simming my character quite a lot recently which is providing me with results which contradicts the majority of information I've read in guides and comments on this website. My top gear from sims leaves me at 27.25% critical strike unbuffed which after testing on the dummy against equipped gear of 33% critical strike unbuffed did result in a slight DPS increase. Am I understanding the shatter/critical strike cap incorrectly? As far as I know the 33% critical strike should be top priority for frost mages although according to sims and dummy testing it results in a dps loss. I've included links to raidbots, armory and also my recent log on N ABT if can help in anyway. Many thanks in advance!

p.s If there's anything you can tell me on what I may be doing wrong in fights, rotation etc would be much appreciated!

Re: [FROST] 33% Shatter Cap/Stat Priority Question
All stats contribute to your damage, even if you don't have the 33,34% crit cap. The reason why you are doing more damage on a dummy is because:
- Your sims have a 20% varience IE your input was 5min so you simmed 240 to 360 seconds (4 to 6 min)
- Frost is fairly rng heavy, this means just doing one dummy compare to a sim won't cut it as the sim is an average of the X amount of iterations. You simmed 10k iterations so the sim did 10000 fights and gave you the average result.
I suggest just following topgear as it's always right in this case.

One last thing about the crit cap, trinkets that increase your critical strike chance on a proc like Acrid or similair trinkets, will allow you to use less crit gear (IE 31% for a high level acrid) and still have crit cap since the Acrid on average gives 800 crit. Again, topgear sims these scenario's just fine
All in all, top gear is your bestfriend.
