BiS list for early start raiding in legion

Unread postby Rucamage Fri Aug 12, 2016 1:20 am

Hi guys. I was wondering if there is any website or a list of items that will may be Best in Slot early on raiding. For what trinkets that will be BiS before raids start. I am wondering for example if it´s really worth getting the darkmoon trinket because there is a trinket that gives 900 haste+,and on use: 3,4k intellect.

Then there is like court of stars trinket I Belive. Since the fact that combustion can be cast while casting scorch for example. First 1 scorch then use FB>PB>FO>FB>PB then when on cd you can just scorch because of the haste you´ll get. Since don´t you get more Pyroblasts while scorching rather then using a fireblast. Also with the artifact does that not give heating up or hot streak when using pheoni´x flames. I´m new to fire mage and just going to reroll it in legion. So I´d hope to get some advice on what items to use.

BiS depends on the current character and encounter setup. Any BiS lists that surface are crude approximations that are often wrong. Simcraft isn't even done yet so one shouldn't even pretend to make a list from all items.

I didn't get a chance to test everything due to just not being able to obtain the raid loot outside of LFR but http://www.wowhead.com/item=139326/wrig ... bonus=1807" target="_blank is very very strong with Fire. Definitely had good results with it in its current state but I would suspect it will get nerfed after the crybabies see it in action.

And actually now that I think about it it's probably pretty solid as Arcane too if each missile tick applies a stack and you can get it in during Touch of the Magi/RoP. Would probably require some good RNG.

Look at the trinket sims in the stickied guides and try and get those trinkets, other than that, just stack crit on every piece of gear you can.

Are we going to use say crafted gear over alot of the stuff in Emerald Nightmare?

i.e. crafted Head Piece with more Crit than the 865 one off Xavius

For normal, maybe. For heroic+ no. For high level warforged normal gear, unlikely.

Remember Crit is 8.6ish weight and Int is 8.0ish weight.

As long as iLvl increases reward a much great Int/Other Stat reward than the Crit loss they will be a better piece of gear.

How accurate are those weights? I've been simming myself and crit never was better than int.

With Kindling and Meteor the gap is closer, but with Cinderstorm Int is about 10% higher than crit to me.

What am I missing here? Is simc703-01 outdated?

This is my last sim:

When I'm siming my 844 character with few 1 out of 2 major traits in weapon I'm having crit being like 20% worse than int on single target fights.

Image

I tried to find way situation where Crit was above Int but had no luck.

Yup.

But it's pretty common to see people saying crit > int.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing, I just want to understand the reasoning.

Crit is better than Int with the common T19 template as you can see at Frosted's thread:

https://www.altered-time.com/forum/view ... f=4&t=2611" target="_blank

If you are simming your own individual character it will be more accurate. But as you can see even in your simming, int and crit have basicly the same value.

I have to disagree with you. For my sim Int is around 23% better than Crit and it's a lot. Crit 3% better than haste, Haste 11% better than Vers and kinda Vers == Mastery. If weights stays that way I can ensure you that BiS item will always have higher ilvl for single target at least since you get almost twice higher gap between main stat and best secondary stat weight rather than best and worse secondary stat.

Will try to look closer for this strange Crit > Int ratio in Frosted Sim because in my opinion it differ too much from what I get.

It may be that way with your individual character. However I have a lot of items with crit on it being around 830ish and I also have upgrades at ilvl 845 but without crit. I always simming to compare them and usually if the higher ilvl item has less than 20ilvl difference, it is not an upgrade.

Could be completely different with your character. Right now I have 49% crit chance.

All crit main stat except 2 items that don't have crit, ilvl 832

Best item level per slot (More Int less crit), ilvl 836

I'd say crit still outscales int if you have it as main stat on every item, but would have to check with better gear.

EDIT:All your sims are with CiS. It should be plain obvious that Kindling raises the stat value of crit by a lot.

I'm well aware.

I said 'With Kindling and Meteor the gap is closer, but with Cinderstorm Int is about 10% higher than crit to me.'

But still I've yet to see crit > int on my sims.

I believe yall, I just wanted to see the reasoning.

Been doing some sims. The overwhelming Crit > Int we see in most sims is probably related to T19 set bonuses. That sim runs 58% crit, which means that after you fail to crit with fireball you have 85.8% on the next, while you would have 77% if you ran 50%.

But mostly, I would say it's due to the 4 bonus, which has a 25% chance to give you a 20% haste buff every time Hot Streak is procced, meaning that the more crit you have, the more Hot Streak and the more Haste buffs.

So right now Crit doesn't have such a high value, but I would still recommed stacking it on every single item as main stat as long as you have the 1800 haste breakpoint.

bought mine 845 with socket for 150k.. dude wasn't aware of how freaking valuable that one was, felt a little bit guilty for not telling :D sim-score say it's better than any mythic nighthold ring (w/o sockets that is), even after the gem-nerf.. haha :D
